ROLEPLAY
FIELD GUIDE.
New to GTA roleplay? Learn to create a character, build scenes with other players, and navigate life on either side of the Wall.
ROLEPLAY OVER
RULEPLAY.
Roleplay means acting as a fictional character in a shared world. Your decisions, conversations, mistakes, and consequences become stories with other players.
WWP emphasizes common sense, player freedom, and old-school FiveM roleplay rather than arguments over technicalities. Your job is not to win every scene. Give other characters something meaningful to react to.
READ THE OFFICIAL RULESSTART WITH A PERSON,
NOT A POWER FANTASY.
WHERE ARE THEY FROM?
A Blainer from the north may be unfamiliar with modern conveniences. Someone from south of the Wall may have grown up hearing rumors about the north. Neither origin forces your character to behave a particular way.
WHAT DO THEY WANT?
Maybe they want steady work, a new home, a business, revenge, or an honest fresh start. A believable goal gives other people reasons to interact.
WHAT CAN GO WRONG?
Stubbornness, fear, bad judgment, and misplaced trust create opportunities for growth. Nobody needs to be good at everything.
WHO WILL THEY MEET?
Leave room for friendships, rivals, unexpected jobs, debts, and surprises. Another player should be able to change your character's story.
GIVE SOMEONE ELSE
A STORY TO TELL.
- 01
APPROACH IN CHARACTER.
Act and speak as your character. Give others a reason to interact without demanding a scripted response.
- 02
LISTEN AND RESPOND.
Pay attention to what others say and do. Good scenes grow from the actions of everyone involved.
- 03
ACCEPT CONSEQUENCES.
A robbery, arrest, betrayal, victory, or defeat may become an interesting new chapter. WWP permits resistance and reckless decisions; consult the community rules for the actual boundaries.
- 04
SAVE RULE DISPUTES FOR AFTERWARD.
When reasonably possible, finish the scene, preserve evidence, and report serious violations through the proper channels. Keep out-of-character arguments out of active roleplay.
ROLEPLAY
VOCABULARY.
Common GTA RP terms in the context of WWP's approach. The Community Rules remain the authority on what is and isn't permitted.
IC — In Character
What your fictional character knows, says, and does inside the world.
OOC — Out of Character
Real-world communication outside your character's knowledge. Discord conversations and personal conflicts should not determine in-character decisions.
Metagaming
Using information your character did not learn in roleplay, such as another person's stream, outside messages, or your other character's knowledge.
Powergaming
Using mechanics, loopholes, or forced outcomes to unfairly control a scene. WWP also prohibits dictating another player's permanent injuries, memories, actions, or death.
RDM — Random Deathmatch
Attacking someone without a reasonable roleplay reason. Outside the designated lawless location, WWP evaluates the context rather than requiring a scripted warning phrase.
VDM — Vehicle Deathmatch
Attacking someone with a vehicle without a reasonable roleplay reason. Vehicles can be weapons when an actual roleplay scene supports that choice.
Combat Logging
Disconnecting, respawning, or exploiting mechanics to escape active roleplay. If you crash, reconnect and continue when reasonably possible.
Stream Sniping
Watching or using another player's active stream while connected to WWP to gain an advantage. Deliberate stream sniping is treated as cheating.
Pocket Wiping
Emptying someone's inventory simply to maximize their loss. WWP prohibits this; stolen items should relate reasonably to the roleplay scene.
Lawless Location
A specific designated interior and its directly corresponding rooftop where certain protections do not apply. Entry must be voluntary and all other rules still apply. Read Rule 10 for the exact boundaries.
